Banque de Luxembourg – sponsor of the Dhondt-Dhaenens Museum’s annual “Tuinfeest” Garden Party
As part of its support of the Dhondt-Dhaenens Museum, Banque de Luxembourg joined Christie’s as one of the main sponsors of the 11th Tuinfeest Garden Party. This flagship event marking the start of the new arts season is first and foremost an opportunity to raise funds for the museum’s activities through an auction.
A hugely successful 11th edition
Last Saturday some 600 people gathered at the museum for the annual Tuinfeest Garden Party. The highlight of the evening was the auction, organised by Christie’s, which allowed the museum’s partners and art lovers to purchase exceptional works of art donated by artist friends, committed galleries and passionate collectors. And for the first time, 40 young artists were also able to present their works at an online auction, which exposed them not only to collectors attending the event but also to Internet users, who were able to follow a live broadcast of the sale thanks to Paddle8. The auction raised some €170,000 and the entire amount will be used to streamline the museum’s operations and optimize the exhibition environment for artists.
A sponsorship tradition that continues in Belgium
Banque de Luxembourg has always been committed to its role as a socially responsible company in the countries that provide the framework for its development. Consequently it has entered into a partnership agreement with the Dhondt-Dhaenens Museum, located just a few kilometres from the Bank’s Ghent offices. Under the leadership of its director Joost Declerq, this institution, which is both a museum of modern art and a contemporary arts centre, has established itself as a leading player in Belgium’s cultural landscape.
